Happy Birthday dear sweet Kai! We're sorry we didn't throw you a party this year, since our only bathroom in the house is under renovation, but we love you to the moon and back. Mama made you a sledding party cake, which amazed and scared you at the same time. "Noooo - trees!" And then when we lit the candles: "Fire! fire!" which Pops and I quickly helped you blow out, since you were on the verge of tears. You had fun though - opening up presents and playing in your new tipi. You even got a special treat this past weekend morning -- having dim sum with your little buddy, E. We love you lots and hope you continue to be as carefree and spirited! Love Mama and Pops.
This month has been all about Kai picking out her own clothes. She has her very definitive musts and a unique layering sense. Here's a smattering of styles of our little fashion plate from the busy New Year.
So much fun! We went for the trains, but we're pleasantly surprised by the exhibition of NYC historical landmarks, that were all meticulously made out of twigs, leaves, acorns, pine cones scales, bark, shelf fungus, nuts and more.
Over the holidays we had started our downstairs bathroom renovation. Renovation with a toddler...hmmm, even the smallest of works proves difficult, but Kai loves to sniff around, sort the bolts, hands Pops the screws, and lay the tiles - it's like a big puzzle!
