A Day at the Park and Garden

New York has been having a spell of amazing Spring weather.  We've been trying to spend as much time outdoors as possible.
In the morning, Amah took Kai to the park, while we ran errands and picked up gardening supplies.   The swing never gets old.  She still loves it.  This is one of my favorite pictures of Kai.  I just love that happiness and smile all over her face and hope that never goes away.  Here she is helping us set brick pavers around our planting beds.

Easterfest

This year we hosted an Easter Egg hunt at our house.   The weather couldn't have been more perfect.   The cherry blossoms in our neighbor's yard added some color to our still dormant yard.  Kai got up to a good start and picked out her favorite dress.  I had made a batch of natural dye baths for the eggs, a few quiches and other breakfast goodies for the brunch.  Sugar Fairy Jay brought all the decadent Peeps, treats and cupcakes to the delight of all the tots.   I hope we can continue the tradition, we had a lot a fun....maybe even include a BBQ next year.

The Gorilla and Statue of Liberty

Since coming back from the Bronx Zoo and seeing the Statue of Liberty from the Ikea cafe, Kai likes to give us her impersonation of a gorilla and the statue.

Two Aries Birthday Parties

Two birthday parties back to back, both born on the same day, but one doubled his age in a year and the other coming somewhere being ten more than thirty.
We had a blast! What better Saturday then to spend with friends, eating, drinking and letting the kids run wild. Kai officially thinks this is the coolest backyard ever.

Patterns in Play

It's fun to see her unfolding her personality.  Recently she's been really into patterns and organization. She's been obsessed with stacking objects, lining them up in rows or grouping them by color or type.  "Which things are the same?"  "Which things are different?"  Uh-oh, is this the sign of another architect in the house?
